The school play "You Can't Take It With You". Bullfighting the taxi cabs in Plaza del Sol. Horseback riding on the horses used to film El Cid. Would love to hear from anyone. Comments: I attended Madrid during the 64/65 school year only, and also would like to know if anyone is doing a page for the students who would be the class of 66. Thank you for your efforts, this was such a nice surprise. I recently had to occasion to be in Madri and re-visited Royal Oaks, and what a surprise I had. The apartments had basically been gutted and /or razed altogether and in their place were some of the loveliest tile roofed California style bungalows. It was good to see that the area had not been llowed to run down. The highway that used to lead into Madrid is now an interstate and Encinar de los reyes has it's own exit. Just thought I would share with you all...

Comments: Remembering MHS in the early 60's. Was the Principal Dr. Butler? Also who was the vice principal who wielded the paddle? (not that I was ever near the principals office) Does anyone remember Future Farmers dicipline after school? (Not that I ever par icipated) I remember the first day of football practice, we would all walk down the field, pick up the rocks and throw them onto the track. Then on the first day of track, we would walk around the track, and throw the rocks back onto the football field!

Comments: i attended mhs 61/62 & 63/64. i would have graduated in 1965 had my father not gotten transfered. the two years there were the best years of school life. the 1 & 1/2 bus rides from Royal Oaks to Torrejon. little league baseball. the flea markets in M drid. the metro, one pesata. we lived, for our fist six weeks in the Torre de Madrid, and Sophia Loren was our next door neighbor. very impressionable for a 17 year old. love to hear from anyone who attended mhs about the time i did.

I remember Tin Pan Alley and the Club Picadilly all the way back to seein' the Stones in the Club Monaco probably around '63 (?). Comments: It's nice to find this site. I have sent some info to D. Burton. I was class of '65, but left in june of '63, after soph year. On to Michigan to graduate. I wish I had one of my old yearbooks, to put faces with names. Don't know where anyone from MHS is, so can't help there. When I got back stateside, at my dad's new base, there were 10 or 15 kids there from the Zaragosa base. Does anyone remember the downtown teen club? Not to far from the American movie theater. Never been back to Spain; did spend a few years in Germany in the service myself. Its hard to imagine that it's been 35 years since I left.
