Rod Fruendt - 04/15/98 18:14:33 My Email:vi00369@us.ibm.com State: New York | Comments: It's always good to find old friends -- especially for a military brat. I'd like to know if anybody knows the whereabouts of any of the class of '62 and '63. It seems that alot of us were drafted right out of High School (Dean Burke and I bucked the sys em and joined the Navy in Rota), and I'm wondering if there are any survivors out there. Great site. Keep it up. |

Patricia Hirsch - 03/06/98 20:41:24 My Email:pehirsch@aol.com State: present: California | Comments: Madrid Jr. High: '65-'66, Madrid High: '66-'67. Am in the 1967 Accolade. I had to dig it out after I found this site. It's so GOOD to actually find people who know what it was like out there in military bratland. I'm looking forward to "intending" a lot m re brats find this site and government overseas brats, too! Rememember them? I was at El Encinar de los Reyes in '80 and it looked so much smaller than I had remembered it - sorry to hear it's not bustling anymore. :( What a great pool that was. Lots of f n times there. Including the one snow storm that closed down everything! We all had a big snowfight in the center of Royal Oaks. Remember? Does anybody remember the discoteque Picadilly downtown? I wasn't supposed to but I do! Met Sydney Poiter there - '6 . Scottsdale in '99 sounds good - it is for all brats, right? |
Dee Redding Curtis - 03/04/98 02:18:37 My Email:dee@theshop.net State: Oklahoma | Comments: Looking for Natasha Rixey, class of 65. Lived in Madrid near the PX complex. What was the name of the high rise hotel we all stayed in on the Generalisimo? I remember the balconies with the blue tiled floors...You could see all up and down the boulevar ! And getting your hair done for a quarter! Those were the days! |
Don Dillin - 03/02/98 01:47:06 My Email:ddillin@erols.com State: MD | Comments: Diane! Thank you for a great MHS'65 web page!!! Only last year found out about the M/THS Association, and am looking forward to mini-reunion (Vivian Elliott is planning for Atlanta) and the 1999 overall reunion in Scottsdale AZ. High school is such a r ller coaster of a time in life -- from awkward to exhilirating to insecure to secure to joyful to sad. And sometimes all of these at one time. So many of us at MHS had only fleeting roots, going from one geographical assignment to another. I feel afte meeting other MHS'ers last year that it was so joyful seeing others again who shared this teen time of life together in such a neat place as Madrid and Torrejon. After more than 30 years, the insecurities are gone ... its like looking back at that time hrough rose colored glasses in many ways ... it is such a kick seeing people again. Sometimes tears, sometimes laughs, but quite a kick! Thanks, Diane, for putting a channel for this in place!!!! Don |

Andy promptly and graciously reviewed the site in its early days of existence and sent tips and suggestions. The relatively short load time f r the main page is due in large part to Andy's constructive counsel. In addition, please take note that on the Email Address List page, at the bottom, there is a link that allows you to send an email to the entire list of classmates. |
