My family and I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It would be nice to hear from some of the old class mates in the year of 2001. All things said, have a great holiday.

I was not a MHS student, but your web site brought back memories. I spent the summer of 1964 between my junior and senior HS year at the University of Madrid as part of an intensive Spanish language program for high school students. One of the treats of the time was taking frequent bus rides from the city to Torrjon AFB with a classmate who was a dependent and had access to the base. The bus ride from the old hotel to the base was quite an exhilerating experience, but it was worth it for the good old Am rican-style burger and shake we devoured. One of my most vivid recollections was the July 4th fireworks celebration on the base that summer.

Great site. Graduated class of 64 from Torrejon. Still friends with Ian MacDonald, and have links to Butterworth. Hi to Roger Cross and the former Claudia Peel. You gotta lot the internet!

Ha! I was born in 1966 and graduated from THS in 1984. I was at the 1999 reunion in Arizona and at the 1996 reunion in Tennessee. They are a blast! This is a very nice website. I think we all have wonderful memories of Spain!
Jim Cotten - 07/01/00 02:28:10
My brother Steve sent me the link to this site. I,m glad I stopped in. Ran accross a lot of name of people I knew. Eddie & Hugh Bennett lived upstairs from my brothers Steve, John, sister Theresa and me. I loved Madrid and most of the bunch in the classes from 61-66. We left in 64, but I knew a lot of the younger classes, as I was in Dick Guy's Chorus and performed with you all until 64, even though I graduated in 62.

For those of you who want to know there is going to be a reunion for people who were stationed at Torrejon in Spetember 2000 up in Atlantic City on the Labor Day weekend. Contact: Mrs. John Sanford, P.O. Box 3492, Riverside, CA 92516. We just had a mini reunion in San Antonio this past weekend and it was great. We had about 150+ from '62 up through the 80's. If we have anymore I will be sure to come here and tell everybody. I am from the class of 1968.

Hello, I remember most of you. Got to the website after typing Go Madrid High School. I was a sophomore at MHS in 65, and left there in June of 66 after my Jr. year. I was on the track team, Hey Eddie, you still as fast as you were then??
Sam Stanley Alden - 03/21/00 23:28:26
Have to add a PS now that I've gone through the website completely: how STUPID I was to have missed last year's reunion! I especially remember Mr. Pierce and have some great photos of him (with brown hair). I remember many of you - I was Class of '64, nd left (with great weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth) in the summer of '63. After last summer's trip back, I can say that while Madrid has grown incredibly, the heart of it is still the same. Un abrazo fuerte a todos los Madrilenos y Torrejonitos.
Sam Stanley Alden - 03/21/00 23:09:09
Great web site! Tommie (Fitz) Bohl and I went back to England last summer, then I took my two younger kids (20 & 17 - not so young) back to Madrid. What a wonderful trip. Just wish I hadn't waited 37 years to go back. Best to all you '65 guys . . .
Steve Cotten - 03/07/00 07:06:55
Boy has this been a walk down memory lane! The pictures of everyone at the reunion reminds me of how ugly the guys were then and are now. But how pretty you ladies were then and my goodness how much prettier you are today. It also reminds me of how much f a close knit group we all were back in Madrid. I will always have very fond memories of that time and that very special opportunity we had as brats together.
Frank Mendes - 03/03/00 20:48:13
found your site by accident. i was one of those ugh airmen whose fathers told you guys to stay away from altho i was about the same age. my barracks was next door to the HS. I was there from 62 til 64 and hung with a lot of the HS kids. Names that come to mind are: Pat Green, John & Virginia Walker, Cheryl Majka to name a few
Peter A. Cramer - 01/10/00 01:26:03
I came to MHS as a freshman in Jan '60 (class of '63), so I don't recognize many faces/names. My brother John was a year ahead of me, and my sister Roberta two years. But it's fun to know there are some MHSers around with similar memories. Cool website

Hi All! I just got the list of missing persons and can help!!! Katie McAnally's address: PO Box 60, Grand Canyon, AZ 86023. Just found this site - what memories. I was class of 1970 but wound up graduating from Santa Monica HS in CA as did my sister Lyn as class of 1967. We were only in Madrid during '65 & 66 but had a great time. I have been back several times - briefly in '72, a couple weeks in 1984 working at Torrejon and twice going in and coming out of Desert Shield/Storm. I have been in the Air Force 24 years currently stationed in Montgomery, AL and headed for a year in Korea this coming April. Lyn lives in Granada ills, CA and can be found at "email@example.com" Cheers... Dave Raphael sends

The pictures from the reunion were great. Thanks to all of you who put the effort in for all of us that did not attend to enjoy the reunion.

Hello! Glad to hear that all went well at the reunion! Wish that I could have made it, but my youngest so and his wife gave birth to a baby girl (Grand child # 6) so maybe the next time. Hope its closer to the East coast. Still looking for someone to reate a Class of 66 web site?

This is a great site, it's starting to embarass me that we don't have a site for the Class of '72. The essay on Royal Oaks brought back a flood of memories. We didn't live there, but we were in Spain from '60 to '73, and used to hike up there from our house five blocks south of the old BX, eat lunch in a "camp" down by the "sewer", and go back home. On e my brother Mike '71, found one of those speed limit signs they put on the back of slow trucks, and strapped the "60" sign to his backpack as he hiked. The cars passing by thought it was so funny, some of them almost ran off the road. Its sad to see the hosts in a happy place of yore that's falling to disrepair, but the memories that live in each one of us keep our past's alive and well. I was introduced to your site by Bill Weaver '61, who stumbled on to me through the Tony Browning '85 site and a regis ration in Onelist.

There are gobs of pictures from the Scottsdale reunion up on the Class of '65 web site; be sure to check them out, you can just click on the link to the left... I expect more photo contributions from folks from '64 to be arriving any day now, as well as ore from 65'ers!
Judy Watts - 08/04/99 04:39:19
What a great time in Scottsdale! I haven't survived on so little sleep in years and danced my heart out. Great to see my ole friends and hope we all get together soon and do it all again. If you weren't there, you missed out and we hope to see you at t e next blast!

I had a GREAT time at the reunion!! I wish I hadn't waited 34 years. I really think that there are veryfew high school classes that were as close as we were and are now. I'm glad that we aren't going to lose that. I hope to see you again in 2000. Tha ks to everyone who worked hard to make the reunion a great event.

What a great reunion! It was the most fun I've had in years and I can't believe the old dancing shoes still work...just ask Diane. In addition to having 10 days in a row off from work (I cried my eyes out this morning when I returned), I felt re-energiz d just from having been around all of you. I hope we can entice a few more to join us next time around. I'll definitely be there!
Eddie - 07/23/99 12:36:32
The reunion was great. Thanks to Andy for putting me on to the Association. Those of you who didn't come don't know what you're missing. Jacky, I'll get ahold of John and we'll come up with an equation to help you figure out how many years it's been. here are a lot of variables you know! Eddie
mary beth knapp susman - 07/23/99 11:15:21
That was a terrific reunion! Being with all of you made me feel like I had returned to my country of origin and was speaking my mother tongue. I vote for a mini-reunion for our 35th!

Well, I guess the 4 hours of sleep I got at the reunion did a number on my math skills-ok so it's our 35th next year not 40th.....whatever it is, if it's anything like this one we'll all have a good time! Thanks Diane, Roger, Don for the work on the pict res.
Mike Delaney - 07/23/99 00:01:42
Great reunion at Phoenix. My first. And I had a terrific time. Let's us 1965ers go to Madrid for next year's 35th reunion. Who would be interested?
Vivian Elliott Holler - 07/21/99 00:26:07
Thank you all for a wonderful reunion. IT WAS GREAT! Plan on a '65 mini next summer. We don't want to wait another three years. Diane, thanks again for a great web site.
