JILL PELAEZ BAUMGAERTNER

I left Madrid in 1964 and went on to Kaiserslautern American High School in Germany where I graduated in 1965. Went to Emory University for my B.A., Drake following that for my M.A. and returned to Emory to complete my graduate work in English in 1980. Since then I have been an English professor at Wheaton College in Illinois. I'm married to another Air Force brat, Martin Baumgaertner, an administrative judge, and have two kids--Anna (25), a professional violinist, and Martin (28), a film producer. I loved my two years in Madrid and in the early 90's returned to Spain as a Fulbright fellow in American literature (Deusto University and the University of the Basque Country). I found it the same and not the same.
